Our Story...
For as long as I can remember, I have loved candles. I have collected them, burned them, given them as gifts and just enjoyed them. They create such an inviting feel in a room. One day my husband came home with a container candle that he picked up as a little surprise for me when he was getting his hair cut at a local salon. I thanked him for thinking of me and quickly lit it while I cooked dinner. I loved the scent he chose and I began researching how to make container candles. I learned so much including the harmful chemicals involved in traditional candles that I had previously purchased in retail stores (toxins and lead - YUCK!). Health and nutrition are important to our family so using quality, healthy ingredients was important to me when finding candle supplies. Once I completed my research, I ordered a small amount of supplies. I quickly found that pouring candles was very soothing to me and that I really enjoyed it. When a day was long and busy, I would sneak down to a little corner in our basement to pour a few candles. Within a few months, I was ordering more supplies, trying new scents, and giving candles away to friends. I wanted the candles to look professional since I was giving so many away...so I created labels and a name. William Joseph Designs was chosen for my youngest son. William is very detail oriented and loves to create and draw. I felt that one day he might add to the "designs" and expand beyond candles.
Within a short time, people began to ask how they could purchase these candles. My children have sold them for fund raising to go on mission trips and that just created more interest. The future of William Joseph Designs belongs completely to the Lord. We are thankful to Him for blessing this and look to Him for direction for future growth.
